Welcome to FAIResearch for allied health professions (AHPs), the website for information, support and network via community looping.

Project Details

The landscape for AHP researchers need parity with other health professions and must include all the allied health professions, across roles and services, for all those with protected characteristics and from smaller professions, in each of the devolved nations. Two research studies were commissioned:

1. Review existing national schemes to understand and explore inequalities and identify opportunities for the potential role that AHP researchers and AHP research can play to help reduce inequalities.

2. Review EDI in CAHPR and conduct a survey of member professions to establish how CAHPR is representative, diverse, inclusive and equitable to those with protected characteristics.

Key Outputs

Recommendations and an action plan to ensure equity, diversity and inclusion of all professions and individual AHPs including CAHPR activities.

This will drive an inclusive culture to ensure research activities can be representative of the populations they serve, this will be monitored and each profession will be asked to provide CAHPR with data profiling their professional membership.

This will enable CAHPR’s strategic partners to regard CAHPR as a representative and fair organisation that can be utilised to help address inequalities of AHPs accessing existing and future research initiatives.
